Jazz Combo performances coming to Westbrook in April

The Glenn Korff School of Music Undergraduate and the Graduate Jazz Combo performances will take place on consecutive nights in the Westbrook Recital Hall in April on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus. Both of the performances are free and open to the public.

The Undergraduate Jazz Combos performance will feature three different combos on April 11 at 7:30 p.m. Combo III, directed by Andrew Janak, will perform three pieces including C-Jam Blues by Duke Ellington. Combo II, also directed by Janak, will perform three pieces including two by Wayne Shorter. Combo I, directed by Dr. Greg Simon, will perform four pieces including Windows by Chick Corea.

The graduate group (Andrew Janak, saxophone; Jesse McBee, trumpet; Chris Leach, trombone and piano; Eric Hitt, bass and Mike Roe, drums) will be performing some of Janak’s compositions including Avant Garde Piece, Nostalgia at 11th and Q and AOE along with some other pieces on April 12 at 7:30 p.m. The performance will also be live webcast.
