Grad Jazz Combo, Vocal Jazz Ensemble combine for recital

The Graduate Jazz Combo I and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble will combine for a night of performance on Tuesday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Recital Hall. The Graduate Jazz Combo I will perform three pieces by graduate student Andrew Janak, including For GK as well as a piece by Christian Chesanek. The Vocal Jazz Ensemble will perform Bli Bip, You are There and By Fire.

About the Vocal Jazz Ensemble

Dr. David von Kampen directs the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Vocal Jazz Ensemble which is a small choir, open to all members of the University community by audition. Students are instructed in jazz style, ensemble singing, lyric delivery, solos and improvisation. The ensemble performs arrangements of standard and contemporary jazz repertoire in collaboration with a rhythm section. VJE participates in various performances both on and off-campus each semester, including appearances at regional jazz festivals.



About the Graduate Jazz Combo I

The Graduate Jazz Combo I includes members of the Jazz Studies Program in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music.

The performance is free and open to the public.
