The final Flyover New Music Series performance “Finale” will take place on Wednesday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Recital Hall.

“At the close of this inaugural season for the Flyover New Music Series, I look back on the things our students have accomplished,” said Greg Simon, Assistant Professor of Composition at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music. “We have presented performances of over 30 new pieces, never before heard by a live audience. These works have featured everything from full choirs to a snare drum and a laptop; in all, over 75 members of the Glenn Korff School of Music community have helped perform these premieres.

“The ways our students have helped Flyover to succeed in its first year are inspiring on their own, but I am equally inspired by the unbelievable support we have encountered from our listeners. The greatest joy of presenting new music is the chance to connect with an audience: a group of listeners willing to be surprised, challenged, and hopefully enchanted by the unknown music that awaits them. “

The performance is free and open to the public.
