Friday and Saturday, March 6-7, 2015 13th Annual Regional JSHS Competition (Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma)
On the Campus of Oklahoma State University Stillwater, Oklahoma

Dr. Julie Angle, director of secondary science education at Oklahoma State University, is also the director for the Kansas-Nebraska-Oklahoma Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS). The JSHS competition provides high school students with the opportunity to present their original research for cash scholarships (http://www.jshs.org). The JSHS would like to see more students from Nebraska attend this year’s prestigious event. Once teachers and students get to Stillwater, Oklahoma, everything is paid for! As an added incentive sponsoring teachers will receive a $200 stipend to help pay for transportation costs. As follows are more details:

High School Students present original research and compete for cash scholarships (up to $2,000 regionally and $12,000 nationally)

* Lodging and on-site food costs covered by OSU
* Teachers receive a $100 travel stipend when they bring student presenters
* Five student finalists will win an all-expense paid trip to the National JSHS competition (April 29-May 2, 2015 in Washington, D.C. area)

Friday, March 6, 2015
1:45–2:00 Orientation Meeting for Teachers and 9th Grade Students
2:00–4:30 9th Grade Student Competition
5:00–6:00 Welcome and Dinner (provided by JSHS)
6:15–6:30 Orientation Meeting for Teachers and 10th-12th Grade Students
6:30–10:00 Preliminary Competition Round for 10th–12th Grade Students

Saturday, March 7, 2015
8:00am–12:30pm Final Round of Competition for 10th‐12th Grade Students
12:30–1:30pm Tour of the OSU Campus
1:30–3:00 pm Lunch and Awards Banquet

$500 JSHS Teacher Award: The teacher award is selected from among the teachers whose students advance to the final round of the regional JSHS competition.

Qualifying teachers have student(s) in the competition who have excellent:
* STEM Research
* Quality written research papers
* Quality oral presentations
