March for Science to be held in Lincoln April 22

On April 22, 2017, the March for Science Lincoln will give the Lincoln community an opportunity to demonstrate their support for the principles of the national March for Science (marchforscience.com): science that serves the common good; evidence-based policy; cutting-edge science education; diversity and inclusion in STEM; open, honest and inclusive public outreach by the scientific community; and funding for scientific research and its applications. While much has been made of the national March, the March for Science Lincoln is meant to celebrate how these principles matter locally to Nebraska’s farmers, ranchers, researchers, medical community, academic community, environmental advocates, science educators, and everyone who values our land and communities.

The March for Science Lincoln is an affirmation of how the Lincoln community values science. We’re holding this march to celebrate the contributions of Nebraska’s scientific communities, and the ways that scientific discovery has made Nebraska a great place to live and work.
