About the UNL Public Relations Student Society of America chapter
UNL PRSSA was founded in 1998 by Dr. Meg Lauerman, APR with twelve members in the original group. Since 2000, the faculty adviser role has been filled by Phyllis Larsen, APR. Through her mentoring, the chapter has grown in size and won several awards. In addition, the UNL PRSSA Mentoring Project was initiated in 2003, allowing students to have a one-on-one mentoring relationship with a working professional. UNL PRSSA currently holds meetings every Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Andersen Hall, home of the College of Journalism and Mass Communication. All majors are welcome because PR is a profession that is needed in all industries.
