Symphonic Band

Join the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Symphonic Band, conducted by Tony Falcone with Graduate Assistant Conductor Rubén Gómez, for its final program of the season, Homages. The concert will feature the epic Enigma Variations by Edward Elgar, Mark Camphouse’s A Movement for Rosa (honoring civil rights heroine Rosa Parks) and Aaron Copland’s immortal Lincoln Portrait with Kabin Thomas, narrator. It will take place Sunday, April 22 at 3 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

Directed by Anthony Falcone, the Symphonic Band has the distinction of being the band program’s top symphonic ensemble. Its select mission is to provide instrumentalists with an opportunity to demonstrate and develop the techniques and musical instincts appropriate to a symphonic setting. With an emphasis on the distinctive characteristics of the large wind and percussion ensemble, the Symphonic Band’s repertoire is culled from the rich resources of the wind band tradition.

Tickets are General Admission $5; Students/Seniors 3.
