Free UNL Student Tickets Still Available

(Lincoln, NE) November 15, 2011 – The University Program Council (UPC) in conjunction with the Lied Center for Performing Arts and the Interdisciplinary Arts Symposium (IAS) is proud to present the Tony Award winner for Best Musical, In The Heights. Composed and authored by Puerto Rican-American musician Lin Manuel-Miranda, In The Heights explores the loves, struggles, and triumphs of the residents of the Washington Heights neighborhood in New York City. A finalist for the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the musical uses rap and hip-hop, along with salsa and Latin beats to tell a story that people from all walks of life can enjoy.
Through UPC’s collaboration with the Lied Center’s Arts for All program and IAS, UNL students have the unique opportunity to see the Friday, March 2, 2012 performance at 7:30 p.m. FREE OF CHARGE! UNL students may take advantage of this opportunity by going to the UNL Marketplace website: marketplace.unl.edu and clicking on the Lied Center tab. After registering by using their NU ID number, UNL students can reserve one (1) free ticket to the performance. There are a limited number of tickets left for UNL students. Tickets are also available for the public for both of the performances on Friday and Saturday, March 2 & 3, 2012 and can be found on the Lied Center’s website: liedcenter.org/ticketoffice.
