Dmitri Fomenko will talk on "Dual Roles of Reactive Oxygen Species - Damage and Signaling" at noon Jan. 25, at East Campus Union, Garden Room, in conjunction with the Nebraska Gateway for Nutrigenomics Seminar Series. All interested faculty, students and staff are welcome.
Fomenko, assistant professor of biochemistry, obtained his master's in biotechnology at the Russian State Academy of Fine Chemical Technology, and his doctorate in molecular biology at the Institute of Molecular Genetics, Russian Academy of Science. His current research focuses on the understanding of the redox control of ER processes, thiol-based and hydrogen peroxide mediated signaling,and selenium biology.
