"Smokey Joe's Café" at TADA Theatre

TADA Theatre presents the musical “Smokey Joe’s Café” opening a three-week run beginning August 10th.

Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, as much as anyone, virtually invented rock and roll, and now their songs are showcased in this production that illuminates the golden age of American music with such songs as “Kansas City”, “Searchin',” “On Broadway,” “I'm A Woman,” “Stand By Me,” “Yakety Yak,” “Charlie Brown,” “Jailhouse Rock”, “Hound Dog” and more.

The cast features some of the best in local talent along with several summer guest artists. Matt Nesmith, the associate professor and coordinator of the bachelor’s degree musical theatre program at the University of South Dakota, returns to TADA after having appeared three years ago in “Life Could Be A Dream.” Also from USD is tenor Nick Akins who comes to Lincoln after having just played the title role in the musical “Pippin.”

“Smokey Joe’s Café” is on stage at The TADA Theatre at 701 P Street in Lincoln, Nebraska’s Historic Haymarket August 10-27 with 7:30 p.m. curtain times Thursday-Saturday and 2:00 pm on Sundays.
