Flu Shots
Flu shots are still available at the Health Center and they are free for students. Getting vaccinated will not only keep your student healthy but also help keep the rest of the student body from getting sick. Your student can get their shot during our walk-in clinic hours: Monday through Friday, from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. Your student will need to bring their NCard and the completed 2017-18 influenza vaccination form with them. Learn more at https://health.unl.edu/flu.

Cold Care Kits
If your student is suffering from a cold, encourage them to grab a free cold care kit from the Health Center. This self-care bag includes cough drops, tea, Kleenex and more. Your student can pick up their free bag at the Health Center from the pharmacy, the welcome desk, a triage nurse or during a regular Health Center appointment.

Student Insurance
The university’s student health insurance plan, UnitedHealthcare StudentResources, will open its enrollment for the spring/summer semester (Jan. 1 through July 31) on Dec. 1. Remind your student to watch their email for instructions to sign up. If they enrolled for fall coverage and plan to continue their coverage next semester, they will need to re-enroll.

Stress Free Zone
Our peer educators’ annual Stress Free Zone event will take place Dec. 5 in the Nebraska Union Crib from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and Dec. 6 in the Nebraska East Union from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It’s the perfect opportunity for your student to relax and recharge before final exams. Free chair massages, coloring books and journals, stress relief toys, pillow mist and more will be available.
