Hello Physics Majors,

Welcome to the Spring 2018 semester! If you are returning to classes at UNL after the semester break (or longer), welcome back! If you are new to UNL, welcome, we are glad that you are here!

My name is Doug Pellatz, and I am your assigned advisor for the Chemistry major. I know that many of you know me, but it is always good to get reacquainted after a break. As your assigned advisor, I am very interested in your success at UNL academically, professionally, and personally. Don’t hesitate to reach out anytime you have a question. Below are my hours for taking walk-in meetings and appointments in 107 Oldfather Hall (the College of Arts and Sciences Academic and Career Advising Center). If I am not available and you need a quick question answered, the Advising Center will be take walk-in meetings in 20-minute blocks from 10 am to 4 pm daily throughout the semester.

While I am your assigned advisor, you also have a great resource in your faculty advisor for Physics, Dr. Ken Bloom. Dr. Bloom will be your expert in getting more deeply involved with opportunities in the department, and he can be reached at kenbloom@unl.edu, 258E Jorgensen Hall, or 402-472-6093. If you are enrolled in PHYS 212 Section 250 this semester, Dr. Bloom will also be one of your instructors. Dr. Bloom is also interested in seeing you succeed at UNL.
