Director candidate speaks today; Wednesday seminar canceled

Three seminars are scheduled this week in Hardin Hall, beginning today, Monday, Nov. 26, with a seminar from a candidate for the director position of the School of Natural Resources. The Geography and Applied Ecology seminar series’ will both host talks on Friday, Nov. 30.

Guillermo Baigorria's Nov. 28 seminar,"Evaluating Dynamic, Statistical and Stochastic Downscaling Methods in Crop Modeling," has been canceled. Baigorria's lecture would have been the last in the SNR Seminar Series. A seminar by Lisa Pennisi scheduled for Dec. 5 has also been canceled.

On Nov. 26, the director candidate will present "Opportunities for Advancing Research, Practice, and Instruction in SNR," in the Hardin Hall auditorium at 2:30 p.m. A short reception will follow the seminar in the second floor lobby. To protect the director candidates' privacy, names are being withheld from publication.

A second director candidate will offer a seminar next week, Monday, Dec. 3, at 2:30 p.m. in the Hardin Hall auditorium at 2:30 p.m. "Synergy and Strategic Action for the UNL School of Natural Resources" will also be followed by a brief reception in the second floor lobby.

The Geography General Seminar Series concludes Friday, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. in room 228 at Hardin Hall with Annabel Major's "The Master Naturalist Program."

Christopher Chizinski is the featured speaker of the Applied Ecology series. His seminar, "The Nebraska Creel Survey: Why We Stay Up All Night," is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 30, at 3 p.m. in Hardin Hall room 163.
