Faculty and staff are invited to participate in a new personal and professional development program at UNL, "Dine, Dialogue and Pass It On," which is designed to encourage dialogue about race, diversity and inclusion.

This program builds on a recent lecture by Shelly Tochluk, author of "Witnessing Whiteness: The Need to Talk About Race and How to Do It." Participants can choose one of the three identical sessions; each of which is limited to 30 participants. The sessions are all Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m. on the following dates:

• Nov. 20 Hardin Hall

• Jan. 29 Hardin Hall

• Feb. 12 Whittier

To set the stage for the session, participants may want to watch Chimamanda Adichie's TED talk, "The danger of a single story" at http://go.unl.edu/8qic and read "Letting Go: How to Join in the Conversation" at http://go.unl.edu/3zd5.

As an added bonus, participants will be treated to culturally inspired appetizers prepared by students in Fayrene Hamouz's catering class.
