SNR Elevator Speech Contest registration deadline is Feb. 5

The third annual SNR Elevator Speech Contest is rapidly approaching. The deadline to register is Feb. 5. The preliminary round will take place Feb. 15. Finals are Feb. 25. All SNR students are eligible to register and vie for cash prizes.

Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, third and fourth place winners in the three categories: undergraduate, master's and doctorate.

Cash awards are as follows:

• $1000 for first place
• $300 for second place
• $200 for third place
• $100 for fourth place
• Overall People's Choice Award - $100

This year, SNR is collaborating with Nebraska Educational Telecommunications (NET) to broadcast the event. NET will tape the finals and broadcast it multiple times.

An SNR Elevator Speech Contest workshop will take place from noon to 12:50 p.m., Feb. 1 in Hardin Hall (Room 228). The workshop will cover rules and requirements, competition format and advice to help student prepare for the competition.
