Dr. Christine Reed, professor at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, will present a lecture on the governance of integrated water management in Nebraska. The seminar will begin at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 18 at Hardin Hall Auditorium, East Campus.

The lecture is part of the 2017 Spring Water Seminar Series: The Right Water for the Right Use at the Right Time.

In “Integrated Water Management in Nebraska," Reed will illustrate the advantages of “polycentric” systems of governance in promoting adaptation to a changing environment. Her talk will focus on how interactions across different scales, from the level of natural resource districts to the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources to the Platte River Recovery Implementation Program, can address complex issues associated with managing surface and ground water with a hydrological connection in the Upper Platte River Basin.

The seminar series is organized and sponsored by the School of Natural Resources and the Nebraska Water Center, part of the Daughtery Water for Food Global Institute, with support from the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
