UNL is offering a session on "Exploring Your Credit Score," 6 to 7 p.m., Nov. 10 in the East Union (room posted). The event, sponsored by the UNL Tax Credit Campaign and the Student Money Management Center, is free and open to the public.

The session is designed to help individuals improve their financial knowledge and security. Information on credit scores will be provided by Kathy Prochaska-Cue, professor in Child, Youth and Family Studies; and members of the UNL Student Money Management Center.

The talk is part of the Nebraska-wide Money Smart Week, Nov. 8-14, a public awareness initiative developed for Nebraskans to help them build their financial knowledge. For information on other Money Smart Week activities at UNL, go to http://www.unl.edu/smmc.

The UNL Tax Credit Campaign, in conjunction with the Lincoln Family Economic Security Coalition, also assists students and members of the community by preparing low-income, working family, and student tax returns for free. The 2011 Tax Credit Campaign will begin Jan. 22 at the East Union.
