As part its year-long effort to celebrate its 140th year as the state's premier museum of natural history, the University of Nebraska State Museum enlisted the help of some Lincoln elementary schools to spread "Mammoth Mania."

A "Mammoth Mania" dance video campaign, launched in early January, features the museum's new "Archie" mascot and students from Riley, Rousseau, Cavett, Clinton and Prescott elementary schools. The videos were created with the help of University Communications and students in dance at the UNL School of Music.

Each year, thousands of students experience hands-on learning at the museum's Morrill Hall, and branch locations at Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park and the Trailside Museum at Fort Robinson State Park.

As the museum looks back on 140 years of history, it also looks to the future and hopes to continue to inspire future generations of Nebraska scientists - and have a little fun along the way.
