The UNL Confucius Institute is offering a stir fry cooking class, 5:45 to 7 p.m., Jan. 28 in Leverton Hall, room 206. Cost is $30.

Stir frying is a classic cooking method for preparing food in China. The process involves cooking at high heat, usually in a wok, for a short period of time. Stir frying preserves the color, texture, taste and nutritional value of ingredients used.

Participants in the class will learn how to cook Jing Jiang (Beijing bean sauce) pork and egg fried rice. Jing Jiang pork is a favorite dish in northern China.

Registration is available by contacting Angela Rystrom at arystrom2@unl.edu or 402-472-5370.
