Civic Engagement presentation July 6

Patti Clayton is a senior scholar with the Center for Service and Learning at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, and she provides a national perspective of innovative civic engagement initiatives and discusses best practices applicable to UNL.

Clayton has consulted with more than 50 schools and higher ed organizations. As founding director of the Center for Excellence in Curricular Engagement at North Carolina State University, and a faculty fellow with National Campus Compact's Project on Integrating Service with Academic Study, she can provide numerous ideas for integrating service with academic study for UNL.

Clayton's talk is 10-11:30 a.m. July 6 in the Kauffman Academic Residential Center Great Hall.

"Join us as we lay the groundwork for building opportunities for students to become active citizens," vice chancellor Juan Franco said.
