Mail Services to end use of campuswide FedEx account

Use of the campuswide FedEx account maintained by Mail Services will end June 30. The change, which grew from conversations with FedEx account representatives, allows for more accurate billings to departments that use the delivery service.

To continue using FedEx services, individual departments are required to set up new accounts with the company. All new accounts take approximately seven days to become active. For information on setting up a new account, contact Candy McCown at 402-472-7834.

UNL is not immediately ending use of the campuswide account to allow departments time to establish their own FedEx accounts.

All departments with pre-printed paper air bills for the old account should destroy the documents.

When the old campuswide account is deactivated, Mail Services will open a new campus account. This new account will be highly secured and will only be used by Mail Services. Campus departments can still process deliveries through the new account, but all deliveries will be processed at Mail Services' 1100 N. 17th St. location. Only Mail Services personnel will issue labels for deliveries that use the new account.
