A reception for Qin de Qing, a visiting professor in the Department of Textiles, Clothing and Design from Quingdao University, Shandong Province, China, will be from 4 to 6 p.m. May 24 in the Rotunda Gallery of the Nebraska Union.
In an exhibit that will run through June 3 in the Rotunda Gallery, Qin will show design work she has completed during her time at UNL. Her sculptural forms use bound resist, metallic devore and acid dye on silver and gold fabrics.
Wendy Weiss, director of the Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery and professor of Textile Design, hosted professor Qin during her time at UNL. The Confucius Institute sponsors the reception.
