For the second year, Landscape Services will partner with Recycling Enterprises to encourage recycling on Husker football game days. The effort will focus on parking lots and walkways on property around Memorial Stadium -- and you can help.

UNL is seeking volunteers to help walk parking lots offering green recycling bags for fans to recycle plastics and aluminum. The fans then leave the bags for volunteers to pick up after the game begins. Recycling bins will also be located next to waste containers along high-traffic pedestrian walkways leading to Memorial Stadium.

"We think it will allow people to be environmentally responsible with their game day celebrating," said Rich Wahl, Construction Manger for UNL Landscape Services. "This is a positive way Big Red fans can contribute to recycling and support a sustainable campus environment at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln."

The effort still needs volunteers. To arrange to volunteer and find out where to meet to get supplies and instructions, contact the recycling coordinator at 472-9139 or e-mail recycling@unl.edu
