Former Husker football players, current Nebraska athletic coaches and other local celebrities headline the Nebraska Alumni Association's 2010 Football Friday event series.

The second season of Football Fridays kicks off Sept. 3 at the Wick Alumni Center Holling Garden, 1520 R St. The featured speaker is Jeff Jamrog, Nebraska assistant athletic director for football operations. A panel of Husker experts including Husker legend Tommie Frazier, the Husker Sports Network's Matt Davison and local media members will preview Nebraska's season opener Sept. 4 vs. Western Kentucky and answer fans' questions about the team. Kevin Sjuts, KOLN/KGIN 10/11 sports director, will again serve as emcee.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and the program is from 5:30 to 7. Football Friday is free and open to the public. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Fans in attendance have the opportunity to win football tickets, Champions Club passes and Husker memorabilia.

Football Friday events are also planned for the same time and place Sept. 10 and 24, Oct. 15 and 29, and Nov. 12. Featured speakers in 2010 include Jamrog, NU volleyball coach John Cook, former Husker player Trev Alberts and more. A complete schedule is posted on http://www.HuskerAlum.org.

The alumni association introduced Football Fridays in 2009, and the seven dates drew Husker fans from at least 16 states, from Oregon to Pennsylvania.
