Ping pong competition to start Sept. 18

The Chinese Students and Scholars Association is organizing a table tennis competition. The event, sponsored by the UNL Confucius Institute, celebrates the 40th anniversary of "Ping Pong Diplomacy" between the United States and China. The competition will also promote the benefits of physical activity.

The competition starts Sept. 18 and may continue Sept. 24 and 25 (if needed). The event is open to all current faculty, staff and students. Six divisions will be offered — student (male); student (female); staff and faculty (male, under 50); staff and faculty (male, over 50); staff and faculty (female, under 50); and staff and faculty (female, over 50). Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers per division.

Paddles will be provided. Participants can bring their own equipment.
