Met Opera broadcast of 'Anna Bolena’ is Oct. 15

The Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center will host a live broadcast of Donizetti's "Anna Bolena" at 11:55 a.m., Oct. 15. An encore performance is at 1 p.m., Oct. 16. The performance is part of "The Met: Live in HD" series that features live broadcasts from New York City's Metropolitan Opera House.

Anna Netrebko opens the Met season with her portrayal of the ill-fated queen driven insane by her unfaithful king. She sings one of opera's greatest mad scenes in this Met premiere production by David McVicar. Ekaterina Gubanova is her rival, Jane Seymour; Ildar Abdrazakov sings Henry VIII, and Marco Armiliato conducts.

The opera's expected running time is three and a half hours.

Tickets are $23 general admission, $21 senior citizens, $16 for Ross members, students and children, and $5 for UNL students (with valid NCard).
