Sept. 26 concert at Sheldon is not free

The Sheldon Friends of Chamber Music season begins with a 3 p.m., Sept. 26 performance in the Sheldon Museum of Art's Ethel S. Abbott Auditorium. A pre-performance lecture begins at 2:30 p.m. The concert is not free as previously reported in Today@UNL.

The concert, "Quartet! Quintet! Sextet! Oh Maia!," features cellist cellist Daniel Levitov, his wife and violinist Karin Brown, and the Maia Quartet. The group will perform Haydn's String Quartet Op. 64 No. 5 "Lark," Boccherini String Quintet Op. 11, No 6 "Bird Sanctuary," and Brahms String Sextet No. 2 in G, Op. 36.

Levitov is on the faculty at Baltimore's Peabody Institute. The Maia Quartet is in residence at Iowa University.

Season tickets for the music series are $130 for adults and $30 for students. New season ticket holders are eligible for a 50 percent discount.
