On Tuesday, June 5, 2018, the Midwest Roadside Safety Facility (MwRSF) performed a full-scale crash test of the SAFER barrier at their Outdoor Proving Grounds.
Ongoing research into the Nebraska-developed barrier that is protecting race-car drivers nationwide drew NASCAR's Michael Annett to UNL.
