Welcome to the summer edition of the PGA Golf Management’s newsletter! There are so many activities and events happening both on campus and away from campus that it will be extremely difficult to capture everything that is happening in the program. But, we will try our best to share with you many of the exciting news stories that have occurred since our last newsletter.

We have numerous articles covering our students and our recent graduates. These young women and men are tremendous assets to our program and will make fine professionals within the golf industry and our communities. It really makes us proud to be associated with these fine individuals. From making the CASNR Dean's List for the Spring Semester to our most recent graduates from the program, these folks are getting it done.

We’ve all heard about and watched the PGA Championship and have wondered if we would ever know someone who has played in this great event (many of you I'm sure know professionals who have competed on this grand stage). Low and behold, Alex Beach (PGA) who is a 2012 graduate of our program will play in the Championship at Quail Hollow in August. Read more about Alex’s amazing story in the article below. Congratulations Alex and good luck!

And our very own Brad Goetsch (PGA) has earned his Masters' Degree this spring from UNL, so read Brad's update on his professional career. And his thesis is a product that we can all benefit from since it captures the history of our program at UNL up to the 2017 spring semester. Congratulations Brad!

And, we have two new faces in the Center of Grassland Studies (this is the program that houses the PGA Golf Management Program). Please read about Margo and Steve in this newsletter and I'm sure you will have the opportunity to meet both of these fine additions to the program during our alumni celebration in September.

Lastly, don't forget to put September 22 and 23 on your calendars this fall! We will be hosting our Inaugural PGM Alumni Reunion on Friday and Saturday, and there is more information about this event within this newsletter. It will be a great event and we promise everyone a good time while back on Lincoln this weekend. We will be honoring the Class of 2007 (our own Jason Harrell, PGA, is highlighted in this edition), so please plan on attending this special event!

Fairways and Greens!
