PGA professionals Jim White (PGA) and Greg Johannesen (PGA) gave lessons this spring in the program’s Teaching and Simulation Labs during the month of February to assist students with their game improvement plans.

Student who haven’t passed the PAT were required to attend the lessons, but the player development program is open to all students in the PGA golf management program. The format this spring focused on an hour in our labs (groups of three students) with Jim and Greg. The students received a 20 minute lesson and observed two twenty minute lessons their colleagues received from either Jim or Greg.

The professionals also involved the students observing the lessons on what to focus on and why and how to incorporate various technologies into the lessons. This has been very popular with the students as receiving and observing golf lessons greatly enhances the confidence and competence of our students in giving golf lessons.

Alex Carper (PGA) who is with Wilderness Ridge taught group lessons out at Wilderness Ridge covering all areas of the short game. This allows our students to experience the skill and knowledge of three of our PGA professionals in the Lincoln area.

Thank you Jim, Greg, and Alex for working with our students in the PGA golf management program at UNL!
