Something you have learned as a William H. Thompson Scholar? As a William H. Thompson Scholar I have learned to never give up in following my dreams. William H. Thompson Scholars Learning Community has given me resources I need to have to be a successful college student.

Something you love most about being a William H. Thompson Scholar? I love the support this community has given me. Being a first generation college student the transition has been hard being away from my family, especially when they depend on me; however, the support of the individuals of this community have given me the strength to continue forward. They have become my family since arriving at UNL.

Something you are looking forward to this year as a William H. Thompson Scholar: As a scholar I look forward to everything. The number one thing however is the opportunity to study abroad, which I plan to do this year.

What are your summer plans? My summer plans consist of going to Soria, Spain for a Spanish program. I will be in Soria for 6 weeks. Within those 6 weeks I will be taking 9 credit hours towards my Spanish major. I will also gain knowledge in new cultures and will have new experiences to talk about upon my return.

Where you see yourself in 10 years? As an immigrant to the United States and experiencing what it is like to go through the naturalization process this has moved me to purse a career as an Immigration Attorney. In ten years I see myself being an Immigration Attorney to help undocumented individuals become legal residents.
