Lincoln, Neb., March 27th, 2009 —

Sixty-one students in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration have earned invitations to membership in the international business honor society Beta Gamma Sigma.

Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student worldwide can receive in a business program accredited by the AACSB International (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). While almost 300,000 students receive bachelor's or master's degrees in business each year, only about 20,000 are inducted into lifetime membership in Beta Gamma Sigma. Students ranking in the top 7 percent of the junior class, top 10 percent of the senior class, and top 20 percent of graduate programs at accredited schools.

Beta Gamma Sigma was founded as a national organization Feb. 19, 1913. With chapters in the United States, Canada, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, Beta Gamma Sigma is an international society that remains dedicated to recognizing the most outstanding students of business and management. It has 500,000 members.
