UNL chancellor to direct university update address to alumni, friends

A special update on happenings, successes and challenges at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will be the focus for an address for Husker Spiritfest by Chancellor Harvey Perlman. It will be at 10 a.m. April 17 at Kimball Recital Hall on UNL City Campus, 11th and R streets (extended).
Perlman's address will highlight the progress toward development of Innovation Campus, report on his recent trip to India and the continuing connections with other international partners like Xian Jiaotong University in China, outline new efforts to recruit and retain students, update on external reviews of life sciences and the Durham School, and highlight new construction happening on campus such as the Gaughan Multicultural Center, the physics building, and the new residence hall.
This weekend, April 17-19, is the first Husker Spiritfest weekend, intended as an alternative homecoming and spring reunion and gathering event for alumni and for friends, fans and newcomers to the university. The chancellor's address kicks off the weekend and is directed to alumni, faculty, staff, students, visitors and anyone interested in an update on what's happening at the university. It is free and open to the public.
