Celebrating the classic big band era greats of the 1940s like Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Bennie Goodman and more, In the Mood is a theatrical swing review that gets audiences dancing in the aisles. The In the Mood singers and dancers, accompanied by the String of Pearls big band will take the Lied Center for Performing Arts back in time at a 7:30 p.m. performance March 9.

In its 15th national tour, In the Mood showcases the big band music and dance of the 1930s and '40s, evoking an unforgettable period in American history -- the time of "The Greatest Generation," the Jitterbug, and "old blue-eyes," Frank Sinatra. It was a time when all of America was listening and dancing to the same music; whether it was swinging, jazzy, brassy, sentimental or sweet. In the Mood includes all the classic favorites, from "Moonlight Serenade" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" to "Sing, Sing, Sing" and "I'll Be Seeing You." By recreating the popular music and songs of the era, the show has inspired generations both then and now.

In 1993, World USO selected In the Mood to be official entertainment for the 50th commemoration of World War II. Since then, the show has traveled to 46 states, Canada and Europe, and in 1997, was invited to perform at the presidential inauguration ball. The show's upcoming national and international tours continue to portray the spirit of the "music that moved a nation."

This performance is possible in part by support from Meier's Cork 'N' Bottle.
