Board members include: Troy Beal (Omaha), Nathan Foley (Waco), Jon Geier (Lincoln), Brooke Herbig (Central City), Emily Hubl (Lawrence), Mitchell Kohout (Clatonia), Shane Manning (Fairmont), Ryan Mueksch (West Des Moines, Iowa), Emily Pribyl (Geneva), Ryan Pryor (Wilber), Amanda Rosenthal (Omaha), Cassie Rosenthal (Omaha), Alex Wach (Wauneta) and Benjamin Wilson (Omaha).
Scarlet Guard's mission is to engage with students while they are on campus and help them build a lasting relationship with the university, other current students and successful alumni. Formerly known as the Student Alumni Association, Scarlet Guard was founded in 1974 and is one of the oldest student organizations on campus. The organization has grown to more than 450 members.
Each Scarlet Guard board member is selected based on his or her academic accomplishments, campus involvement and leadership skills. Members help plan and execute more than 20 events throughout the year, including the Homecoming pep rally, Alumni Masters Week, Career Prep Night and more. They also work closely with Scarlet Guard's parent organization, the Nebraska Alumni Association, to help students develop relationships with successful alumni.
