            The University Program Council at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will present two back-to-back shows of hypnotist Jim Wand on Jan. 24 in the Great Plains Room of the Nebraska East Union, Arbor and Center drives.

            The performances begin at 7 and 9 p.m. and are free for UNL students with valid NCards. Admission is $5 for all others.

            Wand has been involved in the field of hypnosis for more than 30 years and is considered to be one of the most professional hypnotic entertainers in the world today. Wand holds a Ph.D. in psychology and has more than 9,000 professional engagements to his credit, including hundreds of colleges across the United States.

            Not only is he famous among the college crowd, Wand has worked with such personalities as Jay Leno, Chris Rock, Carrot Top, Larry the Cable Guy, Sylvester Stallone, George Strait and Rascal Flatts. He has also appeared on numerous TV programs, including a national FOX special, "WOW", and other appearances on FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS and Comedy Central.             The University Program Council is a student organization that provides diverse, educational and entertaining programs to enhance the UNL community.
