The Lied Center for Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will welcome America's favorite foursome, Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel, to its main stage March 7-9 with four performances of "I Love Lucy Live on Stage."

Adapted from one of the most beloved programs in television history, the brand-new hit stage show will have performances at 7:30 p.m. March 7, 2 and 7:30 p.m. March 8 and 2 p.m. March 9. The Lied Center performance will mark the cast's premiere appearance in Nebraska during the show's first national tour.

"If you’ve ever wondered what it's like to be in a live studio audience in the 1950s, now's your chance," said Bill Stephan, executive director of the Lied Center. "Audience members will be transported back in time to see two of their favorite Lucy episodes unfold live on stage and in color for the very first time."

It's 1952 and you are a member of the studio audience awaiting the filming of two hilarious and oh-so-familiar "I Love Lucy" episodes. Imagine stepping back in time onto the Desilu Playhouse soundstage where a charming host entertains and enlightens you to the behind-the-scenes filming process, the 1950s hi-fidelity technology and this new thing called "television." The episodes begin and you witness, firsthand, the antics of that crazy redhead in the Ricardos' New York apartment and thrill to the Cuban sounds of The Ricky Ricardo Orchestra at the famed Tropicana Nightclub. Between scenes, the Crystaltone Singers perform live advertising jingles of the show's newest sponsors in perfect '50s style harmony.

This presentation is made possible in part with support from Allstate and the Burket Graf Endowment.

Tickets, starting at $30 for adults and $15 for students, are available at http://www.liedcenter.org, at the Lied Center Box Office, 301 N. 12th St., or by phone at 402-472-4747.
