Registration open for IT leadership conference on Nov. 16

Lincoln, Neb., November 5th, 2015 —

Registration is now open for "Opportunity that Scales: Women Advancing the Future of Information Technology and Computer Science," an information technology leadership conference from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Nebraska Union, 1400 R St.

The conference is free and open to the public. Guest speakers include Florence D. Hudson, senior vice president and chief innovation officer, Internet 2; and Melissa Woo, chief information officer, University of Oregon.

The conference will explore issues with the recruitment and retention of women in IT and computer science. The speakers will discuss their leadership journeys, challenges and perspectives on why increasing diversity advances the fields of IT and computer science.

The event is sponsored by UNL Information Technology Services and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
