2,400 RECEIVED DEGREES AT MAY 8-9 UNL COMMENCEMENTS

	Lincoln, Neb., May 11, 2009 -- Approximately 2,400 students received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in commencement exercises May 8 and 9.
	UNL conducted separate commencement exercises for postgraduate (May 8), baccalaureate (May 9)  and law (May 9) degrees.
	Chancellor Harvey Perlman presided over the graduate and baccalaureate ceremonies at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, while Steven Willborn, dean of the College of Law, presided over the law exercises at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. Chemist Eugene "Gene" Cordes addressed the baccalaureate ceremonies, UNL mathematics professor Judy Walker addressed the postgraduate ceremonies and Theodore C. "Ted" Sorensen, former special counsel and adviser to President John F. Kennedy, addressed the law graduates.
	The degree recipients are from 44 states, the District of Columbia, and 40 countries.
	A list of graduates follows. The list includes students who received degrees from the University of Nebraska at Omaha or the University of Nebraska Medical Center in UNO or UNMC programs offered on the UNL campus. Information includes the graduate's name, college, degree and any applicable honors.
