MORE THAN 2,500 TO RECEIVE DEGREES AT MAY 7-8 UNL COMMENCEMENTS

	Lincoln, Neb., May 7, 2010 -- Nearly 2,600 students are scheduled to receive degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in commencement exercises May 7 and 8.
	UNL will conduct separate commencement exercises for postgraduate (May 7), baccalaureate (May 8)  and law (May 8) degrees.
	Jeff Raikes, chief executive officer of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and benefactor of the Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management at UNL, will deliver the commencement address to some 2,000 graduates at the Bob Devaney Sports Cener. He will also receive an honorary degree and his late brother, Ron Raikes, will receive the Nebraska Builder Award.
	P. Stephen Baenziger, university professor and Eugene W. Price professor of agronomy at UNL, will deliver the address to approximately 470 recipients of advanced degrees May 7 at the Devaney Center. The Hon. William Jay Riley of Omaha, chief judge of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, will deliver the address to 120 graduates at the Law College commencement at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.
	The degree recipients are from 44 states, the District of Columbia, and 44 countries.
	A list of graduates follows. The list includes students who will receive degrees from the University of Nebraska at Omaha or the University of Nebraska Medical Center in UNO or UNMC programs offered on the UNL campus. Information includes the graduate's name, college, degree and any applicable honors. Honors include degrees with distinction, high distinction or highest distinction (cum laude, magna cum laude or summa cum laude for UNO degrees) and University Honors Program.
