The statewide Life Challenge is a two-day event designed to help youth learn about issues related to family and consumer sciences, explore available career opportunities, compete with other 4-H’ers from across the state and have FUN! Youth must be 10 years old by January 1 to compete. The statewide Life Challenge will be held June 17- 18 at University of Nebraska–Lincoln East Campus.
Areas of competition include a foods and nutrition challenge, a design challenge, an entrepreneurship investigation (ESI) challenge and a human development challenge. Members of winning teams in each challenge earn substantial college scholarships to UNL’s College of Education & Human Sciences. For more information, visit https://4h.unl.edu/life-challenge
If you have competed on a team in the past and want to do it again, or have never and want to be on a team, contact Kristin Geisert at 402-441-7180 or kristin.geisert@unl.edu by April 15. You are NOT required to compete in the county Life Challenge contest on June 1 to be on a state team, but it provides valuable preparation.
