The University Health Center registered dietitian helps students create healthy eating habits through individualized nutrition counseling appointments. The dietitian can help with weight management, overall well-being improvement, food intolerances and sensitivities, digestive concerns and more. DROP-IN ADVISING

Drop-in advising is great for short questions about course information, grade option, completing forms and other things of that nature. Students should schedule an academic advising appointment to discuss degree plans and goal setting. Drop-in advising is available via zoom only, you will enter the Zoom waiting room at https://unl.zoom.us/my/casadvising and be seen in the order you entered. There are NO Drop-Ins the week of December 19th.

Presented by Jewish Community Relation Council (JCRC) Clean Speech Nebraska will kick off in February 2023 with a month of videos and a workbook focused on being mindful of how we speak to each other when we disagree inspired by Jewish values. Introduction to statistics using R that covers the ACE 3 Requirement. It meets Tu/Th 12:30-1:45pm.
Come learn R! This course introduces basic principles of statistical inference and programming skills for data analysis. The goal is to provide students with the foundation necessary to analyze data in their own research and to become critical of statistical claims made in the news media, policy reports, and academic research.

Opportunity for Nebraska Junior Interested in Politics and Public Policy

Applications are open for the Henry Clay Center’s fully funded, public-policy summer program – the College Student Congress! This two-week program in Lexington, Kentucky, and Washington, D.C. is an ideal academic and professional experience for current college juniors (rising seniors) interested in politics, public policy, law, and government. As a reminder, the 13th annual College Student Congress will take place from May 15th to May 25th, 2023. Fifty-one students will be selected to attend - one student representing each state and the District of Columbia. Each student receives a full scholarship to cover the cost of attendance, including transportation, housing, meals, and program materials. The 2023 Central States Communication Association (CSCA) President’s Undergraduate Honors Research Conference (UHRC) will be held Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 during the 92nd annual CSCA convention in St. Louis, MO. The UHRC offers undergraduate students an opportunity to share their original research projects and provides a forum through which they can inquire about graduate study, meet graduate faculty, and interact with some of the leading scholars in the discipline of communication. The Mortar Board application is now open! Juniors are invited to apply for membership in UNL's Black Masque Chapter of Mortar Board. Freshmen, Sophomores, and Seniors are invited to apply to be Mortar Board Notables and for the Drvol Family Scholarship.
Mortar Board will be holding Information Sessions to provide students with more information on what Mortar Board is and what steps the application process and scholarship process entail. We would love to see College of Arts and Sciences students at the information sessions at the following times:

Univ. of St. Thomas Undergraduate Communication Research Conference

The Communication Studies program at the University of St. Thomas is proud to invite you and your students to the 30th anniversary of the Undergraduate Communication Research Conference (UCRC) to be held at our downtown Minneapolis campus on Friday, April 28th, 2023. The conference was begun in the spring of 1990 with the intention of providing a forum for students to present the research work they had done on communication issues, and today, we offer that same opportunity for students to share their research with colleagues from across the US. We also wanted to provide students and faculty with a keynote address from one of the luminaries in the field of Communication Studies, starting with Dr. James Chesebro, then president of the Speech Communication Association, and including such important scholars as John Cragan, Judith Martin, Sonja Foss, Bruce Gronbek and many others.
