Employer in Residence: Gallup

Gallup is CBA’s Employer in Residence the week of September 2-6, 2013. Wednesday, September 4 students will have the opportunity to speak with Gallup representatives who will share information about Gallup and the internships and full-time career opportunities available for undergraduate and graduate students.

Gallup, founded by Dr. George Gallup in 1935, is an iconic brand known worldwide. Gallup delivers forward-thinking research, analytics, and advice to help leaders solve their most pressing problems. Combining more than 75 years of experience with its global reach, Gallup knows more about the attitudes and behaviors of the world’s constituents, employees, and customers than any other organization.

Gallup consultants help private and public sector organizations boost organic growth through measurement tools, strategic advice, and education. Gallup's 2,000 professionals deliver services at client organizations, through the Web, and in more than 40 offices around the world, including Gallup’s largest campus and operational headquarters located in Omaha, Nebraska and two interviewing centers in Lincoln, Nebraska.

UNL CBA students are likely familiar with one of Gallup's most significant psychological breakthroughs — the Clifton StrengthsFinder. Using more than 30 years of in-depth research, Gallup scientists, led by Dr. Donald O. Clifton, created a groundbreaking program based on what is right with people. Prior to this important discovery, the science of psychology had historically focused on what is wrong with people. Dr. Clifton’s research took a different approach that contributed to the development of a new school of thought known as Positive Psychology. To date, more than 9 million people around the world have used the Clifton StrengthsFinder to discover their innate talents and learn to use them at work, at home, to relate to others, and to achieve their goals.

Visit Gallup’s booth in the CBA Atrium Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 9 AM to 2 PM.
