The Innovation Advancement Fund (IAF) is a proof-of-concept funding program designed to help UNL researchers advance promising technologies from the laboratory toward the marketplace. Administered by NUtech Ventures and supported by the UNL Office of Research and Innovation, the fund provides milestone-driven funding to reduce technical risk, increase commercial readiness, and position innovations for licensing, startup formation, industry partnerships, or additional investment.
The Office of Research and Innovation provides $100,000 annually for NUtech Ventures to administer the program. Each year, the Innovation Advancement Fund is expected to award 5-10 proof-of-concept grants of up to $20,000 each for projects up to 12 months.
Who can apply? University faculty, graduate student and postdoc scholars are eligible.
