Leverage University of Nebraska-Lincoln Alumni Groups on LinkedIn
Joining LinkedIn groups can be a strategy to expand your network or gain access to message other members. Are you a member of the following University of Nebraska-Lincoln alumni and student groups?
If you are not connected with a LinkedIn user, you will need to connect with them before the option to send them a message is available. Click "connect" and type a brief introduction message as there is a character limit. If you are already connected, click the "message" button on their profile.
Use the following steps to contact alumni in LinkedIn groups with you.
1. Confirm you and the alumni are in mutual groups by looking in the "highlights" section or the "interests" section at the bottom at the profile. Groups is a tab in the interest section and highlights are displayed at the top of a profile.
2. Visit the group page on LinkedIn.
3. Click "see all" in the member list on the top right corner.
4. Search the alumni's name listed on their LinkedIn profile.
5. Click "message". Sending a message to users in mutual groups allows you to craft a detailed message without a character limit.
