4-H & YOUTH — Get Your Child Into Gardening With This Year’s Special Garden Project

Have fun with your child by growing Bachelor Buttons ‘Classic Magic.’ This 4-H Special Garden Project is a fun way to learn about growing, harvesting and exhibiting a new plant. All youth ages 5–18 (need not be enrolled in 4-H) may participate. Bachelor Buttons are an easy-to-grow annual flower, which are beautiful and make a great cut flower. ‘Classic Magic’ is a twist on the traditional blue Bachelor Buttons. It’s double or semidouble flowers are variations of dark plum, purple or light lavender. Plants range in height from 30–38 inches. Also, the flowers are edible! Try them in a salad for a beautiful accent.
