Welcome to the start of the Fall 2020 semester and the Microbiology Program! I am excited to serve as the next Director of Microbiology. We have been reminded over the last few months that our health, community, and economy depends on our understanding of the role microbiota and viruses play in infectious disease. While these organisms can negatively influence health, we also enjoy the breadth of benefits that microorganisms bring to our survival (oxygen, food, vitamins, and nutrients) and to a healthy planet. Microbiology underpins all life and survival including ours…in the words of Louis Pasteur…

In my new role as the Academic Success Coordinator, I will be coordinating academic advising across the Colleges of Arts and Sciences and Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, as well as student retention and success programming, and designing hands-on learning opportunities for students in Continue reading…
