Choose from four funds to support teachers

Greetings from the CSMCE!

This #GivingTuesday, support teachers in their pursuit of graduate education through the programs in the Center for Science, Mathematics and Computer Education.

We have created four funds for supporting teachers:

• The CSMCE Development Fund provides funds to support master teachers and graduate students who are part of instructional teams, as well as for CSMCE for travel, subsistence, and other infrastructure costs related to offering professional development for teachers: https://nufoundation.org/fund/01117320/

• The new Dr. Jim Lewis Mathematics Educator Scholarship will be awarded to teachers who want to continue their education by taking graduate courses in mathematics: https://nufoundation.org/fund/01165020/

• The Science Teachers for the 21st Century Expendable Fund supports fellowships for science teachers who take NMSSI courses in the sciences, helping reduce the cost of graduate education: https://nufoundation.org/fund/01119720/

• The Math Teachers for the 21st Century Expendable Fund supports fellowships for mathematics teachers who take NMSSI courses in mathematics and statistics, helping reduce the cost of graduate education: https://nufoundation.org/fund/01119180/

Thank you for considering contributing to these funds. We encourage you to make a gift in honor of our former director Dr. Jim Lewis, who retired from UNL this year. Jim once said, “Education made a difference in my life, and then I’ve had the chance to try to make a difference in our students’ lives.” Let’s honor him by having his legacy live on, impacting the lives of teachers who want to continue their educational journey. By investing in Nebraska’s teachers, you are helping us strengthen mathematics and science education for all of Nebraska’s students.
