Updates to Annual Orientation
Over the past few weeks, Annual Orientation has gone through several updates and improvements to create a more efficient, yet effective resource for new student officers.
The most notable change is Annual Orientation is now much shorter. Going from 90 minutes at the start of 2022. It was reduced to 77 minutes in November of 2022. It now has a running time of only 36 minutes.
Updates include:
• Updated information to reflect current policies.
• Updated format and presentation
• Clear and concise audio
• 36 minutes of running time down from 90 minutes
Annual Orientation utilizes Vimeo to deliver an on-demand option for RSO officers to clear their compliance requirements.

RSO Officers will need to follow these steps to access Annual Orientation and complete compliance requirements.
1. Have all newly elected officers take and pass Annual Orientation.
2. Submit a re-registration form for new officers on your RSO portal.
3. Once you and all officers have completed and passed Annual Orientation, SLICE will process your re-registration and update your officer information within three business days.
We are working on an in-person version of Annual Orientation and will share these details ASAP.

Save the Date for Glow Big Red- February 14 & 15
Glow Big Red is a 24-hour day of giving for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to raise money for scholarships, colleges, programs, student organizations, fraternities, sororities, inclusion, wellness, and many other important areas on campus. The day starts at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 14 and lasts until noon on Thursday, Feb. 15.
Glow Big Red offers UNL students a unique chance to raise funds that will go directly back to your student organization. We encourage you to utilize social media, as well as reach out to alumni, students, parents, friends, professors or anyone else you can recruit to support your group’s efforts!
SOFS is proud to announce a partnership with UBT to provide RSOs to ability to check out credit cards for purchasing.
Over the past few months, SOFS has been working hard to find an alternative to requiring students to spend their own funds up front for RSO events and activities. Now, with the help of UBT, officers can check out a credit card with SOFS which will be billed directly back to the RSOs SOFS account.
To use a credit card, an RSO officer will need to submit a SOFS payment request detailing the list of planned expenses. Once SOFS has confirmed the RSO account balance is sufficient to cover the expenses, they will work with the RSO officer to check out the card.

Other SOFS updates include:
• RSOs will need to upload a receipt to be reimbursed. They will no longer be able to submit requests with missing receipts.
• Advisors should limit spending that requires reimbursement from the RSO’s SOFS account. As advisors are part of the approval process for reimbursements, it is a conflict of interest if they are approving their own reimbursements.
