Webmail users will see a new login screen after an Active Directory upgrade, August 17. Following the upgrade, mobile users will need to re-authenticate. The new Active Directory environment will improve Office 365 performance as well as increase security.

The benefits to Outlook Web App (OWA) clients include:

▪ Support for every current web browser
▪ Web client log out errors remediated
▪ Auto-detection of preconfigured login preferences
▪ A new branded webpage for webmail logins, replacing the in-browser drop-down authentication login. This login screen is specifically dedicated to Office 365 webmail.

Information Technology Services is upgrading the Active Directory Federation (ADFS) to version 3.0. ITS is also working with departments and colleges to prepare to disable the NTVLM v1 protocol within Active Directory to improve security.
